Seattle United

Seattle United is the official and ONLY designated provider of Premier and Select soccer in SYSA for all SYSA select teams in the boys and girls U11 to U14 age groups. In addition, Seattle United will be forming teams in ALL age groups in 2010.

Tryouts for All Ages [4-14-10]

Seattle United will now be holding tryouts for boys and girls teams at ALL ages and levels of play. Complete information about Seattle United tryouts for all teams, including coaches, dates and times, and levels of play, can be found at the Seattle United web site: www.seattleunited.com.

NOTE: For information and clarification about the events leading up to tryouts, and the options for ECFC players who decide to try out for ECFC teams for next year now that ECFC has been suspended for one year from participation in SYSA, please read the following document from Tom Ament, a member of the Washington Youth Soccer Board of Governors. Please especially read the last page closely, as it describes in detail ECFC's options for fielding teams outside of SYSA.

Independent, Club-Based Select Teams

As part of the Seattle United resolutions passed in July, 2009, SYSA permitted existing, U15 and older teams to continue outside the Seattle United program if they chose to. These teams are affiliated with their local, neighborhood club, which provides practice fields, financial oversight, and other services. These teams are not run or overseen by SYSA or Seattle United.  The listing provides a team data sheet with information about the team.

Washington Youth Soccer Tryout Schedule

Washingtong Youth Soccer controls when tryouts can begin. For 2010, no select team tryout can begin until 5 days after the last Washington Youth Soccer Championship Cup game concludes for that age/gender. Based on that directive, here is a schedule of tryout dates by age and gender.

Select Team Registration

Independent, club based select teams in SYSA need to register before tryouts and fill out a Team Information Sheet. In order for the Team Info Sheet to be posted before tryouts, it needs to be filled out and one week before tryouts for that age group begin (see chart above). A $100 registration must be paid in order for the sheet to be posted on the SYSA web site.
